Why Designers Should Join Software Startups

Tarzan Ball is a tricky hook-and-pull physics game
That's a handy ability to have, especially since you've got no legs, no arms, and no other means of transportation. In Tarzan Ball, the rope is everything. But you don't just swing around the screen aimlessly - that wouldn't be much of a game now, would it?
Instead, your goal in life is to collect "targets". Each level has one of these "targets" hidden away somewhere on the screen, usually behind some kind of barrier. Once you navigate close enough to the target, you can shoot your rope at it and just reel it in. That's when you pass the level.
You can't die in this game, but it can still be very frustrating. It's actually one of the tougher games I've posted recently. Still, if you enjoy physics games, this one is quite nicely made.

HTC takes to the skies for new ad campaign

The HTC One series launches in Europe next week, and HTC's pulling out all the stops in the marketing effort for its new smartphones -- the One X, One S and One V. The new marketing strategy, dubbed "As Recommended By", sees HTC bringing fans and enthusiasts on-board to showcase leading features of their new phones.
The first commercial for the One X features amateur photographers Nick Jojola and Tony Mac, and challenges them to shoot what HTC describes as the "world's first freefall fashion shoot" using the phone. The results will be unveiled when the ad launches next Wednesday, April 4, but for the moment HTC's released a few photos showing how the whole thing went down.
As you'll recall from MWC, the One X's 8MP ImageSense camera is a widely-hyped feature, which aims to deliver much-improved image quality and faster capture speeds thanks to a dedicated image chip and RAW format support.

Hallmark Greets Digital, Acquires SpiritClips To Let You Send Photo/Video E-Cards
Photos and video can be even more personal than a handwritten card. That's why Hallmark has just acquired SpiritClips, an online video production and streaming service that also makes personalized digital e-cards. It looks like Hallmark customers will soon be able to create and send e-cards by uploading their own photos or choosing from video content created by SpiritClips. Hallmark already has its own line of animated video e-cards, but they're not very personalized. As more of our intimate connections happen online, the SpiritClips acquisition will let Hallmark stay relevant rather than living off its dead-tree printing business.
